KEEPING YOU AND YOUR HOME SAFE
The health, safety and wellbeing of our customers, employees and contractors is extremely important to us.
We work hard to make sure that the homes we provide are safe and great places to live.
Since the Grenfell Tower tragedy in 2017, we have been leading the way on Building Safety and have raised the bar on safety standards across all our properties.
We have a dedicated Building Safety Team, including three property safety officers, who are passionate about helping to keep our customers and our homes safe.
Meet Vic, Nikki and Tom – your property safety officers.
If you live in one of our high-rise blocks, our property safety officers will be familiar faces around your home.
Victoria Simpson, Nicola Mcatamney and Thomas Knight are here to provide additional reassurance for tower block tenants and answer any questions or safety concerns you may have.
They carry out regular safety inspections in flats and communal areas, arrange fire alarm testing and deal with any potential safety hazards or fire risks, as well as ensure the general fire safety of the block is being maintained.
They’ll speak to you about fire safety and ensure everyone knows what to do if an emergency arises.

Home Safety Checks
Our property safety officers carry out safety checks with individual customers living in all 19 of our high-rise blocks, to make sure all the possible safety precautions are in place in your home and that they work for you.
When we contact you to arrange a safety check visit, it’s really important you book this in with us.
The visit only takes around half an hour, and allows us to check all the safety aspects of your home such as:
- testing smoke and heat detectors
- checking your windows and front door
- checking any ventilation systems and that they’re clean
- a visual inspection of electrical sockets and switches
If anything needs attention or a repair, we’ll make arrangements with you to put it right.
While we’re visiting, we’ll also:
- make sure the contact details we have for you are up-to-date
- check the details of who is living in your property are correct
- check everyone in your home is able to evacuate the building in case of an emergency
- make sure you understand the evacuation procedure for your building
- give you general fire safety information specific to your home
- give you the chance to ask any questions or raise any issues

Report It
Everyone is responsible for building safety. From our staff and contractors to residents and visitors, everyone is encouraged to report safety concerns and be confident that we will listen.
If you do have a building safety concern, it’s important that you report it to us as soon as possible. There are reporting forms available in the foyer of all our high-rise blocks, or you can:

High-rise tenants, could you get out in an emergency?
If you live in one of our high-rise properties, have you considered if you and your family could get out of your building in an emergency? The lifts would be out of action so you would need to take the stairs.
Consider if you or your family have:
- Mobility issues
- Sight impairment
- Hearing impairment
- Mental health issues
- A medical health issue that means you need assistance.
Keeping you safe is our top priority so if you need our support getting out of your home, please let us know urgently.
